How wonderful for Andrew! Really you've been a bit hard on your sons...what you are experiencing, in their wanting to set their own time schedule, participate in decisions about where they are going and when, etc., is a pretty normal growing up experience. What's missing is the usual structure in your life: if you are out of the house from 8 to 5, your kids have a lot more opportunity to manage themselves without tight oversight than you are on top of each other all day. So, you see, the kids can manage themselves, you just all have to work out politely not messing with each others schedule. Anyway, that's my sage advice of the day, as the mom of an 18- and a 20 year old.

We're working on the carbon footprint thing here: Randy has an idea. Perhaps you'll get roped in. And I want you to figure out how to set up the bicycle thing: especially if the SMART tax passes!
